Hopes for charter school lostThe board of the Mid-Valley Proficiency School, Lynden Brown, Margaret Campbell and Paul Bullock, are not going to submit an amended charter proposal to the Lebanon Community School District. The group was working with the director of another charter school, Michael Bremont, who was arrested Feb. 18 on student sex abuse charges. Brown did not return messages that were left at her home number on Feb. 20 and 21. Campbell, who is a Lebanon city council member was not reachable at the number listed on the city’s website; when dialed there is a message that the number is no longer in service. “The federal funds have dried up,” Bullock said Feb. 21. “We have no plans to proceed.” In 2010, Brown, Campbell and Bullock submitted a charter for Mid Valley Proficiency School to the Lebanon Community School District. It was denied. In 2011, the group sought help from another charter school, Redmond Proficiency Academy, of which Bremont was director. Bremont C17 Globemaster Watch For Military Pilots Only
Read the rest here… As I’m sure you know, Ariel, this isn’t that uncommon. Breitling, Rolex, Omega – whoever often makes limited edition watches then offers them at great discount to specific military pilots – often to show off their brands and to get military aviators using them. Breitling in particular, loves this, because they’re so aviation crazy. blog.Watchfinder.co.uk » Bremont C17 GlobemasterBremont, as always, have their fingers right on the pulse of the aviation industry. Their new piece, the C17 Globemaster, is available only to crew of the watch’s namesake and is strictly limited to fifty pieces, but we can all keep our fingers crossed that a civilian version will be released too. As is customary for Bremont, the watch will have been developed for the squadrons under instruction rather than purely as a marketing exercise, and proof of that is printed on the internal rotating bezel. Rather than a list of cities for the different time zones, RAF bases are used instead. Not much use to the average civvie, but a whole world of usefulness for a pilot. The watch is available with three different dial colours – grey, black and blue – which all have a globe pattern imprinted on them as well as the silhouette of an actual C17 Globemaster printed just next to the date window. The COSC certified movement is visible through the rear sapphire, which has cunningly been shaped (along with the case back and rotor) to look like one of the four jet engines slung under the C17’s wings. ...Bremont Globe Master C-17 - ATG Vintage Watches ForumsOne point of interest on roto click. With the 24 ICAO identifiers (International Airfield Codes) around the dial, then 60 "clicks" won't work. It will need to be 48 (12 hour increments) or 72 (8 hour increments). I passed that word to Bremont, but haven't heard back. Al--you might mention it. Otherwise, no clicks would be better to line airfields up with time zones. |
